Overview:

It has 0 shot translation ability. It does idioms apparently. You can tweak results by giving a few examples as well. [EOP] indicates end of prompt. Translation into the same language can also act as summarization. It isn't perfect. Just using [Language1]: X [Language2]:[END PROPMT] generally works.

0-shot (any language)

Formal

Sentence: """That's a hard problem. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it"""
Translation (german, formal):[EOP] "Das ist ein schwieriges Problem. Wir werden das Problem erst dann angehen, wenn wir dazu gezwungen sind."
Sentence: """That's a hard problem. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it"""
Translation (english, formal):[EOP] "That is a difficult problem. We will deal with it when we come to it."

Using different primes on the translation seems to have different impacts. E.g. looking at formal vs. APA english there's changes in the "I'm" vs. "I am"

Sentence: """I'm hungry. I'm gonna go get some food"""
Translation (english, proper):[EOP] """I'm hungry. I'm going to get some food."""
Sentence: """I'm hungry. I'm gonna go get some food"""
Translation (english, APA):[EOP] """I am hungry. I am going to get some food."""
Sentence: """I'm hungry. I'm gonna go get some food"""
Translation (english, formal):[EOP] "I am hungry. I will go get some food."

Informal/Colloquial

Sentence: """That's a hard problem. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it"""
Translation (german, informal):[EOP] "Das ist ein harter Brocken. Wir werden das Problem angehen, wenn wir dazu kommen."
Sentence: """That's a hard problem. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it"""
Translation (english, colloquial):[EOP] "I don't know what to do, but I'll figure it out later."

Slang

This doesn't seem to work, but including examples

Sentence: """That's a hard problem. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it"""
Translation (german, slang):[EOP] """Das ist ein harter Brocken. Wir werden das schon irgendwie hinkriegen"""
Sentence: """I am hungry. I will go get some food"""
Translation (English, Slang):[EOP] """I'm hungry. I'm gonna go get some food."""
